Forever....Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

The Value of a Friend
9 Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Coconut Macaroons, Pinoy Style

Today, I baked macaroons based on the recipe I found at AJ's Cooing Secrets ((http://www.ajscookingsecrets.com/2010/08/filipino-coconut-macaroons-and-my-first.html).

I am proud to say it was a hit with my visitors today (Pastor Bernard of IES South Jakarta & Sister Jeannette) and my in-laws. They requested for takeaways.

I am bringing some to the office for tasting...

By the way, I will run and ride my bike tomorrow. After these baking binge, I need to!

Happy Sunday!

He is the Rock....

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.

The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Psalm 46:1-3,7)

Through the valley of the shadow of death...

There are times we feel like we are trapped in a dark place... feeling our way around... suffocated... lost. We call out, loud, our voice breaking from our own screams. But no one seems to hear us...to be listening.

We despair and feel frustrated because we feel that no one cares about us and what we are going through. We go deeper into the dark to run further away from everyone.

What we always forget is that there is always someone who is looking after us, who is thinking of us and has plans, great plans, for our lives. He's always on our side holding our hands and guiding us towards that lighted path which will take us out of the dark place we've put ourselves into.

He is always there for us...all we have to do is humble ourselves and lift up our hands and say...I need you in my life, Lord. Just those words and everything will be all right.

Psalm 23 (NKJV)

A Psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell[a] in the house of the LORD
Forever.

Lemon Squares

It's been a while since I dabbled in the kitchen. Today afforded me the time to stay in the house, do something nice for Ika and make something I have been thinking of making - Lemon Squares. I remember one of my uni friends going around selling this yummy pastry.

From the very first time I tasted them, I had been thinking of doing it myself.

So, how did it turn out? Not that good...hahaha...the sides are a bit crunchy and dry. The bread itself is buttery and on the sweet side.

But it's a good start...I will try again until I make the best batch.

Tomorrow....pinoy macaroons!

Hapy weekend y'all!
